All About Me

My name is Ally Enter and I am a practicing registered nurse, wife, and mother of two, who specializes in maternal newborn care. I was born, raised and still live in Mount Prospect, IL. I graduated honors from Bradley University receiving a Bachelor of Science in nursing. I then worked for Northwestern Memorial Hospital and now work at Advocate Lutheran General where I have gained more than a decade of nursing experience working within labor & delivery, neonatal intensive care, antepartum, and postpartum departments. My time as a mother/baby nurse has given me a compressive understanding of the triumphs and challenges that a mother and her baby face throughout their unique developmental journey.

Wanting to specialize in maternal/child health and advance my nursing career in a that would prepare me for my own parenting journey — I found a passion for breastfeeding. This led me to achieve my international board certification as a lactation consultant to become a health care professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. 

With this training, I lead prenatal breastfeeding education classes, conduct inpatient hospital consultations, and provide in-home outpatient care services for infant feeding issues. My mission is to empower mothers during this vulnerable time and find ways to honor and support the personal and unique breastfeeding journey of each family.

When I’m not helping mothers breastfeed, you can find me enjoying a glass of wine with my husband, who is also a nurse. I can also be found heading to a park or museum with my two extremely energetic boys, or fostering rescue dogs in need of a second chance. Like other aspects of life, breastfeeding is a journey. There are ups and downs and feelings of accomplishment and frustration. I would love the opportunity to help and your growing family achieve your personal goals and meet you at whatever stage of the breastfeeding journey you’re in.
